Refugee camp Azraq / Jordan
The Azraq refugee camp is the second largest camp in the world. It covers an area of 15 square kilometres. More than 130,000 people can be accommodated there. The first large hospital under German management opened there on Pentecost, 2014.The reportage shows insights into the daily work of the helpers practicing there. Either doctors, nurses or THW (Technisches Hilfswerk). The misery in this camp is great. Many refugees are traumatized by the terrible war events in their home country Syria. The refugees arrive at the hospital with the worst injuries caused by the acts of war. Some are disfigured for their lives.
